Travel and Tour Guide Business

1. Application for license to operate the travel business for a legal entity (Sor Toy Gor. 2) signed by the director or authorized representative and sealed.
2. Certificate to confirm that the corporation has resisted lawfully according to the Civil and Commercial Code with the objectives within 6 months (More than half of the board members have to be Thai nationality and Thai board members are authorized to sign and seal the documents according to the Tourism Business and Guide Act 2008.) including the address of the branch. (If there is one.)
3. List of the shareholders ( Bor Or Jor. 5 ) issued this year, vilified by Ministry of Commerce and dates not more than 6 months. (Natural person hold 51%)
4. Memorandum of Association ( Bor Or Jor. 5 ) verified by  Ministry of Commerce dates not more than 6 months.
5. The corporate regulation or minutes of establishment (If there is no corporate regulation.) verified by Ministry of Commerce dates not more than 6 months.
6. List of ordinary or limited partnership incorporation (Hor Sor. 2) verified by Ministry of Commerce dates not more than 6 months.
7. Signed copy of ID card of all the directors and authorized representatives. If there are any foreign directors, attach a signed copy of passport and work permit visa.
8. Signed copy of personal name change certificate or the personal name change valuable paper of the director/authorized representative (If there are any.)
9. Signed copy of census registration of all the director/authorized representative.
10. Photos of the front and inside of the office signed by the director/authorized representative and sealed.
- 2 front photos includes the whole building and shows the address and nameplate clearly.
- (The nameplate has to be in Thai and durable. The photos have to be in color, size 4” x 6”)
- 2 inside photos (The photos have to be in color, size 4” x 6”)
11. Map of the office signed and sealed by the director/authorized representative.
12. Proof of ownership or possessory right over the property where the office located.
13. Copy of policy of assurance to provide accident insurance to tourists and tour guides during the trip which covers not less than 500,000 baht per person in case of death, loss of limb or disablement. The insurance has to cover not less than 1 year from the day the application for a license to operate the travel business has been applied.
14. Letter of attorney and copy of ID card of the director/authorized representative, signed and sealed, attached 30 baht stamp with a copy of ID card from the attorney.
15. Security deposits for travel business. (Choose one.)
- Cash/ cashier's cheque to Department of Tourism for …………….. Amount ..................... baht.
(In case of paying by Cash/ cashier's cheque, bring a copy of the corporate certificate not more than 1 month show to the bank.)
Security deposit rate for general travel business with code 11/xxxxx is 200,000 baht, foreign travel business with code 14/xxxxx is 100,000 baht, domestic travel business with code 12/xxxxx is 50,000 and local area with code 13/xxxxx is 10,000 baht.
*** If the new operator puts down the security deposit in the form of cash or cashier's cheque, a copy of the corporate certificate signed and sealed by the director/authorized representative and dates no more than 6 months can be attached and applied to the bank.
16. 2 remit for security deposit, signed and sealed by the director/authorized representative.
17. Travel business license costs 2,000 baht with 1,000 fee, add up to 3,000 baht in total.

Letter of certification shown that the cooperation has resisted legally according to the Civil and Commercial Code with proposal dates no more than 6 months (More than half of the board members have to be Thai nationality and Thai board members are authorized to sign and seal the documents according to the Tourism Business and Guide Act 2008.) including the address of the branch. (If there is one.)

9. Proof of ownership or possessory right over the property where the office located. Also, attach a copy of title deed signed by the lessor.
10. Travel business license and Travel business license (branches) with a copy of travel business license sealed and signed by the director/authorized representative. (Or notification of loss.)
11. A copy of insurance policy
12. Letter of attorney and copy of ID card of the director/authorized representative, signed and sealed, attached 30 baht stamp with a copy of ID card from the attorney.

5. A signed copy of diploma or a certificate of bachelor's degree and transcript /or a signed copy of diploma or a certificate shown that you’ve completed a tour guide training course from the authority specifies, also show the real copy of the documents to the officers.
6. A certificate from a certified medical profession (doctor's certificate) dates no more than 30 days, including a seal from the infirmary (use the real copy of the document)
7. Tour guide license fee 200 baht

7. A certificate from a certified medical profession (doctor's certificate) dates no more than 30 days, including a seal from the infirmary (use the real copy of the document)

You can extend the card in Bangkok but you need to apply with a temporal address because your census registration is located in Chonburi. The ID card you have need to be the general one and still not expire. Also, the license number on your card need to be 11-xxxxxx or 12-xxxx only.

Personnel standards in tourism

ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals: ASEAN MRA on TP: MRA-TP) was established by the approval of all 10 ASEAN countries that aims to facilitate the international mobility of tourism labour across the ASEAN region to exchange information as well as best practices in order to enhance performance and potential of manpower in the member states to be international. The promotion and professionals development in the tourism industry under the agreement does not include tour guides. Tour guide is a profession reserved for Thai people only. Currently, manpower development in the tourism industry under the agreement operates in 2 branches in 6 departments, 32 job titles as follows...

Anyone who is interested including students, tourist service providers and general publics but only those who pass the competency assessment will be given the certificate of Competency Standard for Tourism Professionals.
The Department of Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports are now in the process of stipulating to certify the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA on TP) in 32 job titles, 2 branches and 6 departments by evaluating the performance of labours in various positions based on their education, training and/or work experience as the basic criteria for the accreditation of the ASEAN Common Competency Standards for Tourism Professionals. If the process is completed, there will be a public relations again or you can keep updated on the Department of tourism’s website http://www.tourism.go.th/
Those who pass the competency assessment and get the certificate of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals, also known as the ASEAN Tourism Professionals (ATP), will be registered in the system of the ASEAN Tourism Professional Registration System:. ATPRS) which acts as an intermediary between the ASEAN tourism professionals (ATP) and employers in the tourism industry in the member states of ASEAN (Job Matching). The employers can find and contact the ASEAN tourism professionals to meet their requirement. Plus, the ASEAN tourism professionals (ATP) can apply for vacancies that employers have announced and the certified professionals have the right to travel to work in the ASEAN Member States but also need to follow the rules and regulations of the countries where they work. In addition, the Department of Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports have been discussing with the relevant authorities about the benefits for those who have been certified as the ASEAN Tourism Professional such as compensation and etc.
There are guidelines for developing the professionals in tourism industry, in 32 job titles, according to the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals of the Department of Tourism as follows:
1. Regulate the Act to promote the tourism manpower B.E. ... to be completed subjected to the enactment of the Kingdom of Thailand and apply to provide effective support to the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals: ASEAN MRA on TP: MRA-TP) and regulate other relevant legislation (Subordinate Legislation) to support the orderly implementation.
2. Promote public relations for relevant sectors such as students who are about to enter to the tourism industry, tourism service providers in the tourism industry and business owners in the tourism industry, government departments and agencies, private sectors including general public to know and have a correct understanding of the MRA-TP.
3. Promote and facilitate the professionals in the travel industry, educational institutions and other involved agencies participating in the training and assessment to be developed as an ASEAN Master Trainer (MT) and an ASEAN Master Assessor (MA)
4. Conduct training and evaluating programs for National Trainers (NT) and National Assessors (NA)
5. Promote, support and endorse potential institution or entities with all qualifications as a Training Center and an Assessment Center for the ASEAN Tourism Professionals and create a network of professionals development in the tourism industry into the international standard.
6. Drive personnels in the tourism industry into the development process (training and assessing) to be the ASEAN Tourism Professional (ATP).
7. Develop the Tourism Professionals registration system of Thailand to associate with the system of the ASEAN and promote it as a channel to facilitate a labor mobility of the Tourism Professionals to achieve purposes of the agreement.
