Preparing and organizing tourists before visiting the Grand Palace.

Late King's Royal Remains Information Center, the Government Public Relations Department, was informed by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports about the meeting of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports on Monday, October 31st, 2016, at the Conference room 2, to prepare and organize tourists to visit the Grand Palace on November 1, 2016 with important information as follows:

1. Tour operators can transfer foreign tourists in 3 ways:
1.1 By car, pick up and drop off tourists at the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel
1.2 By car, drop off tourists at the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel and pick up by water route at Tha Chang Pier
1.3 Pick up and drop off tourists by water route at Asiatique the Riverfront (Capacity of 400 people) debarking at Tha Maharaj Pier charging 130 baht for a person
1.4 Prepare 6 tourist police with the ability to communicate in foreign languages per day to be on duty at the guardhouse with white glass and the rescue tent which is opposite the front at Wiset Chaisri Gate from 08:30 to 16:30 hrs in order to assist straying tourists from the group.
1.5 Department of Tourism in cooperation with Bangkok created pick up and drop off signs in English and Chinese. The Marine Department provided staff to facilitate and ensure the safety for tourists at 3 piers including Tha Chang pier, Tha Maharaj pier and Asiatique pier.
1.6 After finishing dropping off tourists, the drivers should park their buses at the neck of Rama VIII Bridge, Southern Bus Terminal, around Dusit Temple and private restaurant area and others. Ministry of Tourism and Sports send a letter to transportation companies to assist with parking. * For small shuttle buses, personal vehicles or others, Thai participants shall pick up and drop off at Chang Rongsi Bridge, Khlong Khu Mueang Doem Bridge and in front of the Ministry of Interior.
2. Access door
2.1 Tourists: Available time for tourists is 08.30 -15.30 hrs. Entrance and exit at Wiset Chaisri Gate (the same way)
2.2 Thai people: Available time for Thai people is  08.00 -16.00 hrs. entering at Manee Nopparat Gate and during 16.00 - 21.00 hrs. entering at Wiset Chaisri Gate and taking the exit at Wiman Thewet Gate and Thewa Pirom Gate.
3. Facilitate and assist tourists: Department of Tourism together with the tourist police prepare Special Affairs staff and volunteer to service and assist tourists.
4. The establishment of a joint operations to be stationed at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports at TAT Contact Center on the 1st Fl. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports consist of 5 units (a person for each unit) including representatives from Office of the Permanent Secretary for Interior, Department of Tourism, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tourist Police Division and Tourism Council of Thailand to  provide information and news, find solution for problems, receive reports and coordinate with the relevant authorities, starting on November 1, 2016 onwards, the telephone number is 0 2283 1555.
5. Other cooperation issues
5.1 ATTA should inform in advance of an amount of visitors who will come to Wat Phra Kaew in each day, where they come from or what is the name of their tour company including tour guides name to the operations center.
5.2 Tourists should write the company’s name and tour guide’s name with the number to use in case of straying.
5.3 The tourism companies arrange the switching time visiting the Wat Phra Kaew to reduce congestion.
5.4 Reiterate tourists not to carry too much baggage, sharp weapon to facilitate convenient and quick search.
5.5 Currently, the Bureau has not allowed foreign tourists to pay respect to the King’s remains.
